What is Reiki & Chakras
What is Reiki?
Reiki, the Universal Life Energy, is practiced by using gentle hands-on healing technique (or hands off if requested) that uses the universal life force energy to balance the subtle energies (chakras) within our bodies and to heal. The most helpful way of describing Reiki is comparing it to the feeling of a loving hug. Reiki can either be through the touch of hands or 'hands off' and hovering over the body, if requested instead. When a practitioner administers Reiki, some clients may feel heated touch, cold touch and sometimes nothing at all. Everyone experiences Reiki in a different way and it is even noted that no two reiki sessions, even with the same client, are the same. The best way to understand reiki is to experience it.
What are Chakras?
According to International Association of Reiki Professionals, "Chakras are the concentrated energy centers of the body. Chakra is a Sanskrit term and it means “wheel” or “disk” and is derived from the root word “cakra”. Chakras are spinning wheels of energy/light. Chakras have the loving responsibility of taking in, incorporating, and emanating energy to keep us functioning at optimal levels.
